Civil Process:
Line
The Civil Division of the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for providing civil process service to individuals by certified mail, publication and personal service. The division also serves Writs, which consist of but are not limited to, collecting money, seizing property (real and personal), evictions and attachments on children and adults. In addition the division is responsible for the sale of property to satisfy judgments, delinquent taxes or other court orders.

The Civil Division consists of three (3) Civil deputies, a Civil Clerk and one Supervisor. This Division, like the Warrant division, falls under the Patrol Division. In 1998 the Civil Division received 9,028 civil papers for service. Of those, 6,842 were expedited for a 76% service rate. In addition, for the fiscal year 1997-1998, the division collected a total of $223,234.53 towards judgments and delinquent taxes.
