JANUARY

Dunes Day - Saturday, January 20  9am-noon
DUE TO THE SHORTAGE OF DONATED TREES THIS YEAR QUINTANA WILL NOT BE PARTICIPATING IN DUNES DAY BUT WILL HOST A BEACH CLEANUP INSTEAD.

Surfside Beach will still be staking trees. Recycle Christmas trees into beneficial sand dunes along the Brazoria County coastline. Volunteers meet at Surfside Beach - Stahlman Park to rebuild, restore, and strengthen our dune line against storm surges. For more information, contact James Glover at 979-864-1541.

MARCH

Sunday, 10 March 1-3 p.m. - Basic Field Archery at Camp Mohawk County Park. Learn the basics of field archery with instructor Marvin Hall. All equipment provided. Space is limited. To pre-register, contact Camp Mohawk County Park at 281-581-2319.

Saturday, 30 March 30, 2-4 p.m. - Easter Egg Hunt at San Luis Pass County Park. Candy and prizes provided. Registered campers only; for information or reservations, call 979-233-6026.

APRIL

Saturday, 20 April - Texas General Land Office Adopt-A-Beach Spring Clean-Up  
Volunteers gather at 9 a.m. in Surfside and Quintana for a general beach clean-up.  Dress for the weather and bring along some water. Supplies provided. Free meal afterward. MAY

Thursday, 16 May - Third Annual Fishing Tourney at San Luis Pass County Park.
Starts at noon on Thursday and runs through 9 a.m. on Sunday. Registered campers only; for information or reservations, call 979-233-6026.

JUNE

Saturday, 15 & 29 June  - Searching for Sea Life  10am - 11:30am
Quintana Beach County Park. Help park rangers drag the seine (net) through the surf and discover sea life native to the Gulf of Mexico. Open to the public. For information, contact the park at 979-233-1461.

Monday-Thursday, June 17-20, 9 a.m. - noon - Nature Camp at Camp Mohawk Outdoor nature-related programming with the Brazoria County Master Naturalists. Ages 7-12. Low-cost; limited space available. Saturday, 22 June, 2 p.m. - Fish Print at San Luis Pass County Park.

Saturday, 21 September - Texas Navy Day Celebration and Cannon School  Celebrate the Republic of Texas Navy at Surfside Jetty Park.  Interact with costumed interpreters and watch period artillery at work. Flag raising at 8 a.m.; infantry drill at various times; 10 a.m. cannon school; ceremony at 4 p.m. For information, call 979-864-1541.

Small Watercraft Club. Join the fun with Brazoria County Parks, Brazoria County 4-H Clubs, and Sea Center Texas as we learn about canoes and kayaks. From basic watercraft safety and skills to short trips on local waterways, this growing club is a good fit for family activity and learning. Dates, times, and locations vary by season.
