Coastal Impact Assistance Program

 

The following projects were funded with qualified continental shelf oil and gas revenues by the Coastal Impact Assistance Program, Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Department of the Interior:

Bastrop Bayou Water Quality Project (F12AF00831)
Funding is for the upgrade of wastewater treatment facilities within the    area.

Coastal and Marine Interpretive Displays at
San Luis Pass County Park

Funding will provide for the installation of 3 aquarium tanks in the the visitor center at San Luis Pass County Park. Video screens displaying current water and weather conditions will also be made available. 

Coastal Wetland/ Birding/ Interpretive Trails (F12AF01190)
Funding will allow for the construction of observation decks and interpretive trails at three parks in Brazoria County: Hanson Riverside County Park, National Oak Park in Alvin, Texas and Dolores Fenwick Nature Center in Pearland, Texas

County Road 257 Dune Restoration Project (F12AF0884)
Funding will be used for the construction of four miles of sand dunes along Blue Water Highway on Follett's Island.

Land Acquisition at County Parks (F12AF70240)
Additional land will be purchased to protect and restore valuable habitat.

Quintana Beach County Coastal Education Center (F12AF70055)
A 2000 square foot state of the art Coastal Education Center will be constructed at Quintana County Park.

San Luis Pass Inlet Management Study (F12AF70053)
The San Luis Pass Inlet was evaluated as a sand source for beach nourishment or other sand requiring projects.

Sediment Management and Beach Nourishment at
San Luis Pass County Park

Sediment was removed from the cove adjacent to the San Luis Pass County Park allowing for the restoration of this marine habitat.

Shoreline Stabilization Project
Funding was used for a coastal engineering study of activities needed to stabilize the CR 257 shoreline.

Wetland and Wildlife Areas (F12AF70266)
Habitat restoration projects will be initiated at each of Quintana, Camp Mohawk and Resoft County Parks
