Mechanic-Pct 3 (Alvin location-Full-time)

 

High School Diploma or equivalent required, with three months training and/or experience or combination of education and experience.  Candidate will repair and maintain electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks for the County by performing the following duties; test drive all equipment; read job orders and observe and listens to truck in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures; installs new ignition systems, aligns front wheels, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts; overhauls gas or diesel engines; examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and makes adjustments; lubricates moving parts and accompanies driver of repaired truck to verify conformance to specifications; fabricates special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings; regular and predictable attendance is required.  Starting salary is up to $15.86 per hour based on previous experience and qualifications.  Please apply at the Brazoria County Human Resources Dept. or call 979-864-1809.  Applications may also be obtained and submitted at this website.

 

Laborers-Pct 3 (Alvin)

 

High School Diploma or equivalent required, or three months related experience.  CDL certification required within 90 days.  Must pass drug test and background check.  Duties include but not limited to, general labor in assisting the asphalt and bridge crew.  Salary is $12.34 per hour.  Please apply at the Brazoria County Human Resources Department, or call (979) 864-1809.
