Lead Acquisitions Clerk - Technical Services (Angleton Branch)

 

Associate’s degree (A.A.); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must be able to type 30 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy. A keyboarding test will be given. Ability to lift and carry loads of up to 40 pounds required. A pre-employment physical will be required. Assists Acquisitions Supervisor in planning and implementing section activities and performs any/all responsibilities in the absence of the Acquisitions Supervisor. Duties include, but are not limited to: Operates automated circulation system’s acquisitions module and automated electronic ordering systems; Prepares selection list in accordance with established policies; Orders library materials, Receives and checks in library material orders against packing slips, invoices and the acquisition’s module in accordance with established policies; Returns shipments in error and files claims with vendors for missing or damaged material; Prepares invoices for payment; Processes library materials to make them ready to be sent to the branches or cataloging; Prepares and receives supply orders for the department following quarterly ordering system and maintaining inventories to avoid stock piling or shortages; Answers telephone and directs the calls; Types and maintains files as assigned. Processes periodicals and US mail; Assists in other departments, as workflow requires; Maintains statistics as requested; Attends meetings as needed and performs other duties as assigned.  40 hours per week (Monday through Friday). Recording Clerk-County Clerk’s Office ALVIN/PEARLAND (Full-time)

High School Diploma or equivalent required, or combination of education and experience.  Applicant must have computer knowledge, telephone skills, and previous experience working with the public.  Duties include, but are not limited to; check documents for recording; collect fees and make change; record and receipt documents; respond to public requests by mail, telephone, web site, and in person regarding recording of documents; issue certified copies of birth, death and marriage.  Applicant must be able to work overtime in the Elections Dept. several times each year.  Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.  Starting salary is $13.90 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.  Please apply at the Brazoria County Human Resources Dept. or applications may also be obtained and submitted at this website.
