Indigent Clerk-Health Dept. – Alvin location
Applicant must have clerical
experience including typing, filing, answering phones, computer skills,
operating fax machine and other office-related equipment. Candidate (bilingual
preferred) should be detail oriented, be punctual, have good people skills, be
able to multi-task responsibilities and be willing to learn necessary software
programs. High school diploma/GED is required or a combination of education and
work experience. Hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Salary which
is based on qualifications and experience is from $11.31 to $13.51 per hour.

Westside, Freeport and Sweeny Libraries
Must be 16 years of age and have at least two
years of high school. Duties include,
but are not limited to; shelving books and other library materials in
alphabetical order and perform other duties as assigned. Applicant must be able to work well with the
public and possess good verbal communication skills. Starting salary is $7.75 per hour. Applicant must be able to work evenings and
Saturdays as scheduled. 10 hours per
week. Pearland Westside must be able to
work between the hours of 10:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M.

Clerk-(part time) – (Angleton Branch)
High school diploma or equivalent required. Applicant must have the ability to type at
least 30 wpm with a high degree of accuracy.
A keyboarding test will be given.
Ability to lift and carry loads up to 40 pounds required. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Determines whether incoming materials match existing
bibliographic records in the automated catalog according to established
Creates bibliographic records for audio visual material
Bar codes and creates holdings records for audio
Processes books and audio visual materials to make
them shelf ready
Checks books and audio visual material for correct
processing before sending to libraries
Mends worn or damaged books and audio visual material
Withdraws material from the collection, packs and
moves to designated location
Operates on-line automated catalog, various software
programs and standard office equipment
Performs other duties as assigned
14 hours per week (as scheduled Monday – Friday) and starting
salary is $11.31/hour.
