Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Coordinator/Public Health Planner (Full-time)

Brazoria County Health Department, Emergency Preparedness Program

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required plus 2 years of experience in field of emergency preparedness planning, public health, and/or biological incident training.  Shift: M-F, 8AM-5PM with some weekend and evening work required; may be required to work as a part of the response team in the event of a public health emergency.  Candidate will perform as a contributing member of the public health emergency planning, preparedness, and response team; expected to respond with the team to any threats to public health, whether natural or man-made; works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment in the performance of job duties.  This position is a grant-funded position, and the position and salary are directly dependent upon grant funds received.  Duties include, but are not limited to; perform routine and complex research work.  Work involves developing local, regional, or state plans or programs for public health preparedness to include the coordination of the Strategic National Stockpile receiving, staging, and dispensing plans as well as the Cities Readiness Initiative plans; exercising these plans; developing procedures for implementing public health preparedness plans or programs; and developing procedures for measuring progress made on operational plans or programs dealing with public health preparedness.  This position is responsible for the development of emergency plans related to mass prophylaxis by ensuring the mobilization of health emergency response clinics through coordination with city and county partners.  Starting salary is $35,000-$38000 annually depending on qualifications and experience.  This position is accountable to the Director. Asset Coordinator (part-time-may lead to full time)

High school diploma or equivalent required, or two years of college and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  The Coordinator will assist PHEP in planning, preparing and promoting Emergency Preparedness programs in Brazoria County by performing the following administrative duties; perform receptionist duties by receiving calls from members of the public, responding to inquiries, providing information within scope of responsibility, and referring calls to other co-workers as appropriate; maintain financial records, monitor the expenditures, and direct the spending of 2 or more grants/budgets; assist in the development of website and maintaining the website on a weekly bases; participates in staff training activities, staff meetings and other activities of the department; enters data into automated systems or designated databases utilizing a personal computer and perform any other duties as assigned.  This is a grant funded position, position available depending on funding. This position could become full time.  Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 A. M. to 5:00 P.M not to exceed 20 hours.  Some weekend and evening work required.  May be required to work as part of the response team in the event of a public health emergency. Library Clerk-Pearland Westside Library (Part-time)

High School Diploma or equivalent required.  Must be able to work well with the public and possess good verbal communication skills.  Applicant must be able to type 30 WPM; a keyboarding test will be given.  Duties include, but are not limited to; operate on-line automated computer system, send and receive books and other materials to and from other libraries, collect fine money, keep statistics, answer phone, type, file and perform other duties as assigned.  Salary is $11.54 per hour.  17 hours per week.  Applicant must be able to work evenings and weekends as necessary.  Please apply at the Brazoria County Human Resources Dept. or applications may also be obtained and submitted at this website.

 

 

Shelver – Lake Jackson Library

Must be 16 years of age and have at least two years of high school.  Duties include, but are not limited to; shelving books and other library materials in alphabetical order and perform other duties as assigned.  Applicant must be able to work well with the public and possess good verbal communication skills.  Starting salary is $7.90 per hour.  Applicant must be able to work evenings and Saturdays as scheduled.  15 hours per week.  Please apply at the Brazoria County Human Resources Dept. or applications may also be obtained and submitted at this website.

 

 

 

Health Dept. – Part-time, Clerk Angleton

 

High School Diploma or equivalent required, or combination of education and experience.  Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.  Knowledge of immunization schedule is helpful but not required.  Duties include, but are not limited to; greeting clients, complete forms, data entry, and general office duties as assigned.  24 hours per week and starting salary is $11.54 per hour.  Hours are flexible, but you must be able to work Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and prefer Fridays 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.  Please apply at the Brazoria County Human Resources Dept. or applications may also be obtained and submitted at this website.

 

 

 

 

Children’s Assistant, Part Time –Pearland Branch

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate of Arts degree preferred.  20 Hours per week (Monday-Saturday with evening hours).  Starting salary is $12.23 per hour.  Duties include, but are not limited to; assists the Children’s Specialist by presenting weekly story times; develops the children’s materials collection; plans and implements special programs such as the summer reading program; implements library public relations and outreach by creating bulletin boards, displays, flyers, handouts and other visual aids as necessary; advises the Children’s Specialist of any materials needed in the children’s department; serves as a backup for the Children’s Specialist; attends bi-monthly Children’s Meetings and performs other work as needed, including but not limited to assisting the circulation desk not more than 4 hours per week and completing supervisor assignments.  Please apply at the Brazoria County Human Resources Dept. or applications may be obtained and submitted at this website.
