Shelvers – Lake Jackson, Manvel, Pearland Westside, West Columbia and Sweeny Libraries

Must be 16 years of age and have at least two years of high school.  Duties include, but are not limited to; shelving books and other library materials in alphabetical order and perform other duties as assigned.  Applicant must be able to work well with the public and possess good verbal communication skills.  Starting salary is $8.06 per hour.  Applicant must be able to work evenings and Saturdays as scheduled.  Lake Jackson-12 hours per week, Manvel-15 hours per week, Pearland Westside-10 hours per week, West Columbia-10 hours per week and Sweeny-10 hours per week.  Please apply at the Brazoria County Human Resources Dept. or applications may also be obtained and submitted at this website.



Acquisitions Clerk – (Part-time) Angleton Library

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Duties: Operates automated circulation system’s acquisition’s module and automated electronic ordering systems; prepares selection lists using established procedures; orders library materials electronically; maintains contact with primary vendors and  publishers; troubleshoots errors with vendors; prepares purchase orders and requisitions; receives and checks in library material; prepares invoices for payment; cross trains in cataloging item and bibliographic records; processes periodicals and U.S. mail; and performs other work as needed. Applicant must be able to lift and carry loads of up to 40lbs and also type 30 WPM. Administrative Assistant

Under limited supervision, provides various advanced staff support services to the County Agriculture Extension Office by performing these essential functions: answers, screens and directs calls for a multi-line phone system; may maintain the calendar of a County department or office official; schedules the use of conference rooms and equipment usage; balances budgets within the office or department; tracks budget expenditures; maintains requestor/approver status in an automated records system for requisition preparation/approval functions; sets up new employees as well as personnel changes; maintains vendor information; adds new vendors; updates existing vendor information; verifies tax identification information; conducts research to determine vendor status; finds additional contact information; identifies duplicate vendors; prepares various written correspondence; prepares various legal documents and notices; prepares and processes various permits; creates and tracks work orders; creates and distributes internal office forms; creates various promotional materials, including flyers and brochures; participates in programming activities; provides research, educational materials and publications; distributes marketing materials; makes bank deposits; records banking activities; reconciles accounts; prepares financial statements for meetings; processes registrations and payments; issues receipts; maintains the office or department web site; receives and distributes staff mail; accepts and refers service complaints from the public; sorts and distributes mail to staff; may accept time sensitive bid proposal submittals; data enters staff payroll information; may audit staff timesheets to ensure accuracy; prepares and makes travel arrangements for staff; prepares vouchers for staff reimbursement; maintains various records and filing systems and logs; maintains retention management records; prepares and sends vendor notices involving invitations to bid and/o requests for proposal/quotes; files contract files and related documentation; maintains physical files; prepares purchase orders from requisitions; receipts purchase orders; attends and keeps minutes for various meetings; receipts purchase order items; conducts an inventory of office supplies and equipment; receives open records requests; prepares requested documents; orders supplies and equipment; ensures the maintenance of vehicles and facilities; performs special projects as assigned; may provide notary services. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; AND two years of experience in advanced staff support; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.  For the complete job description, please contact the Brazoria County Human Resources Department.
