Building Permit:

You are required to obtain a building permit in Brazoria County for structures over 200 square feet in a Non Flood Zone and structures of any size in a Flood Zone that are completely enclosed. This includes any garage that is built before or at a later date from the permanent dwelling and completely detached, manufactured homes, relocated homes/buildings, barns, workshops and storage buildings.

EXAMPLE:  If your home is appraised at $50,000 dollars, the addition has to cost $25,000 dollars or more.  If the cost is less than half of the appraised value of the structure, we do not require a permit.
