Building Permit:
You are required to obtain a
building permit in Brazoria County for the contstruction of
any building over 200 sq. feet, placement of relocated
structure or mobile home, any garage that is built before or
at a later date from the permanent dwelling and is
completely detached from the dwelling requires a permit.
You are also required to obtain a permit for an addition.
FLOODPLAIN/BUILDING PERMIT DEPT. Windstorm Insurance: Is available to residents in Brazoria County to all new structures and additions or repairs to existing structures (including re-roof). This is up to the individual to get and is not handled through this office. WINDSTORM
INSPECTIONS Driveway: You are required to get a workorder issued for a driveway on county roads. You will need to contact the engineering department for them to send someone out to see what size culvert you will need. Please provide the physical address for the site. Heavy Load Permits: Commercial haulers are required to obtain heavy load permits for hauling oversized loads on all county roads. BRAZORIA
COUNTY ENGINEERING DEPT. Septic Tank/Water Well Water Testing: Brazoria County requires a septic tank permit for any new construction and for updating existing septic systems. There is a requirement for a certain distance between the septic tank lines and the water well. The health department has a facility for testing water, when necessary. You may bring water samples to the county lab. BRAZORIA
