Communication is
occasionally challenged with cell phone outage, dropped
calls, and some land line outages.
There continues to be a
widespread power outage across the County and limited or
diminished infrastructure services in most areas.
Return of Special Needs
citizens has not been determined.
Angleton
- City is not open to residents. Power is slowly being
restored throughout the city. Angleton Danbury Hospital
is not open to the public yet; the city will not reopen
until the Hospital is back in full service.
Clute
- City not open to
residents. Most roads cleared. No power, groceries,
sewer - no infrastructure. Encouraging citizens to call
the Police Stations if they want their property checked
but do not citizens to return.
Damon
- Some power outages.
Freeport
- City is not open to residents. 3/4 of the city has
power restored, lift stations up and running, tree and
some structural damage.
Iowa Colony
- No power, minimal
structural damage.
Lake Jackson
- City is not open to
residents. Minimal potable water and potential sewer
issues. Brazosport Regional Hospital is not open to the
public yet.
Surfside
- Surfside is still closed only open to those necessary
to revitalization of infrastructure. May allow citizens
on the island tomorrow for a short period of time. Not
all citizens will be allowed due to water, downed power
lines, debris, etc. Exit from the island will be
required. Residents will be prohibited from entering a
number of structures due to the lack of structural
integrity.
Sweeny
- Similar issues, no power, roads are clear. Sweeny
Hospital is not open to the public yet.
West Columbia
- Similar issues, no power,
diminished city services and no lift stations.
CURFEW
7 pm - 7 am for the
following cities:
Angleton
Clute
Freeport
Iowa Colony
Lake Jackson
Surfside (also requires EXIT
from the island by 7 pm)
West Columbia
INDUSTRY
Those companies which
have presence in the area or have brought in early
returnees continue to assess plants.
I am not aware of any
re-entry issues for those folks who have re-entry
letters.
As a reminder, please
advise to the staffing of your plants/sites during the
restricted entry period.
Courtesy of one of the
local law enforcement agencies, I was able to briefly
take a look at Angleton and Lake Jackson. I am please
to say that the most damage I could see included wood
fences and considerable tree damage. Although I know
there are some structural damages throughout all the
cities - I did not observe any. THAT IS GOOD.
Be positive.
Be safe.
