Jury Exemptions:
Exemptions
or Excuse from Jury Service:
- Over
70 years of age.
- A
full time student carrying 12 hours at a
college or university.
- Full
time public or private high school student.
- Have
legal custody of a child under 10 years of
age and no one to leave the child with
during the day and you do not work outside
the home.
- The
primary caretaker of a person who is unable
to care for themselves and you have no one
to take care of them.
- Have
a physical or mental impairment.
- No
longer a resident of Brazoria County.
- An
officer or employee of the Senate, House of
Rep., or any department, commission, board,
office or other agency in the legislative
branch of state government.
- Active
member of the armed forces.
- Not
a U.S. citizen.
